Kupwara: The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police killed two terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) at Tekri Nar in the Machil area of Kupwara. Security forces recovered several arms and ammunition from dead unidentified terrorists.

"Identification of the killed terrorists being ascertained," police said.

The Kashmir Zone police tweeted: "Army and Kupwara Police neutralised two terrorists near LoC Tekri Nar in Machil area of Kupwara. Identification of the killed terrorists is being ascertained. Two AK 47 rifles, two pistols, and four hand grenades recovered."

In a similar encounter 10 days ago, two terrorists were killed in the Nowgam area of Srinagar district after the police followed a "specific input".

According to a June report, at least 118 terrorists have been killed in the Kashmir Valley in the first half of 2022. Out of these, as many as 32 are foreign terrorists. "77 terrorists are from Pak sponsored LeT and 26 from JeM outfit."
