Tractor Parade: Actor Siddharth takes swipe on those who condemn violence
text_fieldsActor Siddharth, who has been a vocal critic of the ruling alliance, on Tuesday tweeted that the vandals who destroyed a shrine were advising the farmers to protest peacefully.
"We loved, celebrated, and judicially exonerated the morons who broke a building as vandals. The proponents of that barbaric crime are today lecturing the country on peaceful protests. Irony is doing some double somersaults. Dissent is patriotic," his tweet read.
His tweet came in support of the farmers following the chaotic scenes that Delhi witnessed on Tuesday as groups of protesting farmers broke off from the planned Republic Day tractor parade routes and entered the national capital, hoisting a farm union flag and a Sikh religious flag on the ramparts of Red Fort.
Unprecedented chaos had erupted in Delhi on the Republic day during the farmers' tractor rally. A farmer had also died during the police firing against the protestors. The central government has deployed more troops in Delhi in the wake of the protests. The central government has also cut off internet connectivity in several parts of Delhi. Internet connection was completely cut off at the Noida border in Delhi. It was initially announced that a tractor rally would be held at 2 p.m but the farmers broke the barricade and swarmed into the national capital at 8 am. The farmers entered Delhi through the Singhu and Tikri borders. The police had given permission for the tractor rally from 12 am to 5 pm. Thousands of farmers marched on tractors and other vehicles. Police vehicles and barricades were removed by farmers.
The truth about the incidents that took place at Red Fort following the protest came out yesterday. It has been revealed that Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu and his gang hoisted the Karshar flag at the Red Fort. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (JKM) has denied any involvement in the violence during the Delhi protests. "The peaceful agitation has been going on for the last 60 days. Antisocial elements infiltrated our otherwise peaceful movement. We dissociate ourselves from all such elements that have violated our discipline," members of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha said.
The Kisan Morcha had said that it would take a detailed response after gathering information on the protests and clashes.
