55-year-old Moorthy who was thought to be buried on Sunday evening reached home on Monday evening.
However, there was nothing spooky about the incident, it is just another case of mistaken identity.
Moorthy, a daily wage worker, had gone to Tirupur a few days earlier to harvest sugarcane, India Today reported.
On Sunday morning, a relative of Moorthy's called up his son Karthi to say that his father was found dead nearby a bus stop.
A distraught Karthi rushed to the spot and confirmed that it was his father, police said.
Registering a case, the police handed over the body to the bereaved family who performed the funeral right before burying Moorthi on Sunday evening.
Still reeling from the loss of his father, Karthi saw his father walking home on Monday evening.
Karthi was shocked and the all family could not believe their eyes, according to the report.
Both his father's death and miraculous return hours after his burial equally shocked karthi.
Karthi quickly informed the police of his father's return; and police have launched a probe to trace the real identity of the man who was buried.
