Since the start of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been hearing heart-wrenching stories about people battling for their lives across the world.

From people rushing to the hospitals for help, friends and relatives raising SOS for ventilators and medical oxygen, hospitals refusing to admit more patients for lack of beds, oxygen and sometimes even drugs, families of deceased Covid patients waiting outside morgues to find a place for cremation, this pandemic has shown us the flip side of life at so many levels.

We are also witnessing the fury and pain of the common people who are betrayed by the crumbled public health system in our country.

This is one such story reported from S N medical college in Agra, where the patients were "forcibly" discharged as the hospital went in short of medical oxygen.

At a time when people are afraid of even viewing a covid patient from a distance, the image shows a woman giving a farewell kiss to her loved one who is struggling to breathe, outside the hospital premises.

The husband was denied admission to the hospital due to a lack of oxygen supply. Nevertheless, the lady can be seen holding him tight to her and giving him the one last kiss before his death.
