New Delhi: A Japanese woman who was manhandled during the Holi festivities in Delhi said on social media that she heard it was dangerous for women to go out during the day at the festival.

She said she had participated in the festival alongside 35 of her friends and called the manhandling ‘unfortunate’.

Police have detained three people, including a juvenile from an area near Paharganj, who have confessed to their involvement in manhandling the woman, according to NDTV.

They were detained after the police had taken note of a video of the incident, nevertheless the woman is yet to file a complaint.

A video shot in Paharganj area showed a group of men smearing colours on the woman, who appeared to be uncomfortable and one man smashed an egg on her head.

The woman who had tweeted the video on Thursday went on removing it quickly after she said she was "was terrified" by the reactions to the video.

"On March 9, I tweeted a video of Holi, but after that, the number of RTs and DMs increased more than I had imagined, and I was terrified, so I deleted the tweet," she reportedly tweeted.

Despite the harrowing experience, the woman called India a fascinating country, adding that India and Japan are friends and she loves everything about India and she has been to India many times.
