Masaan-fame actress Shweta Tripathi Sharma will be soon seen in a social-thriller web series 'Escaype Live'. She said the drama of the plot drew her to the project.
Shweta will be seen playing Sunaina in the show exploring the lengths content creators go chasing their aspirations. She said that she is drawn toward drama and likes stories that have interesting characters. The emotional quotient of the story and how she emotionally responds to the story are important to her. "Besides the script, how I connect to a character is extremely important," said the actress.
About her new character Sunaina, she said Sunaina is sunshine in a human form and everybody needs such a person in their life. She is someone who offers unconditional support while being a critic at the same time. "Sunaina is someone who is not going to lie to you because she loves you or cares about you".
Shweta said Sunaina is someone who gives her honest opinion. "I think a refreshing character like that is needed". The actress noted that she has never played a very happy character. Hence, playing Sunaina was a big change.
She describes Sunaina as someone sure of who she is. "She is an educated and ambitious woman with dreams. She knows exactly what she wants and exactly what she does".
Escaype Live will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on May 20. The show focuses on the journey of six people while they struggle to win fame and fortune on a social media app called Escaype Live. The winning contestant has a big monetary reward waiting for them. Directed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, the show stars Plabita Borthakur, Siddharth, Swastika Mukherjee, Jaaved Jaaferi, Kunal Thakur, Pratik Lade, Karan Ashar, and Rohit Chandel.
