Terrorists kill non-local rural bank manager in J&K Kulgam
text_fieldsSrinagar: Further destablising the peace in the area, terrorists shot dead a bank manager in Kulgam district on Thursday.
Vijay Kumar of Rajasthan, a non-local employee who manages Ellaquai Dehati Bank Bank at Areh Mohanpora branch, was attacked as he entered the bank branch in the morning, according to the police.
Kumar sustained critical gunshot injuries and died on the way to hospital, reports say.
Doctors said he was dead on arrival. The eight killing in the Valley since May 1 has paralysed the minorities in the region.
On May 31 terrorists killed Renji Bala who was a non-local teacher in the same district.
The targeted killings in the region have roundly been condemned across political divide.
Kumar joined the Kulgam branch a week ago. He had previously been working at the bank's Kokernag branch.
The law enforcement cordoned off the area just as a hunt for attackers has started.
On May 31, a school teacher Rajni Bala from Samba district was shot dead at the government school in Gopalpora kollam.
On May 12 terrorists targeted Rahul Bhat, a clerk killing him inside the tehsildar's office in Chadoora tehsil of Budgam district.
