Stray dog roams with dead foetus in its mouth around a Jaipur hospital
text_fieldsJaipur: Police in Rajasthan's capital are investigating the incident of a dog roaming with a dead foetus in its mouth around a government hospital here on Sunday evening.
The dog left the foetus near the oxygen plant of the Women's Hospital at Sanganeri Gate after people tried to catch it and then the animal would sit on the wall nearby.
Police said that severe dog bite wounds were found under the child's head.
After conducting post mortem on Monday police disposed of the foetus of the eight-month old male.
The hospital management has filed a case in this regard at the Lal Kothi police station, India Today reported.
Police are searching for the family of the dead feotus which, according to the preliminary probe, may have been stillborn in the hospital.
It is believed that the family might have buried the dead child, which the dog dug up later.
"A dog was seen with a foetus outside the hospital premises. Police was informed. Then the police took possession of the fetus," said Dr Asha Verma, superintendent of the hospital was quoted as saying.
The station in charge at Lalkothi police station reportedly said that the foetus was found near the hospitals' oxygen plant. The officer added that there was no CCTV at the site.
