Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre is making a comeback to the screen while making her OTT debut. She will soon be seen on the ZEE5 show 'The Broken News' which is the Indian adaptation of the popular British drama 'Press'.

Press is a six-part show aired on BBC One in 2016, and the plot revolved around two newspapers and the lives of their employees. The Broken News follows a similar storyline and shows the events of two rival news channels in Mumbai - Awaaz Bharati and Josh 24/7 News.

Awaaz Bharati is an independent, ethical news channel and Josh 24/7 runs on sensationalist, invasive journalism. The story deals with their employees' quest for news. The show is directed by Vinay Waikul and stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Indraneil Sengupta, Taaruk Raina, Aakash Khurana, and Kiran Kumar.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer of ZEE5 India, said the partnership with BBC Studios has led to a fantastic line-up with many big titles announced in the first quarter of the year. "The focus for 2022 is to bring premium quality content across genres and languages".

He added that ZEE5 is simultaneously working on curating a list of unique stories across formats and languages to build a platform of varied choices for its viewers. "The Broken News' is the beginning of another partnership with a reputed content studio to bring interesting and unique story narratives for our audiences."

Sonali Bendre is facing the camera for the first time since she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018.
