Solidarity with Agnipath protests: Congress calls for 'Satyagrah' at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: In a show of solidarity with the youths protesting against the Agnipath scheme, Congress MPs and leaders will hold a "Satyagraha" at Jantar Mantar on Sunday morning.
Agnipath is a new scheme introduced by the Central government for the recruitment to the Armed Forces.
Young people across the nation have come out on the streets to protest the controversial plan. There have been incidents of violence reported in several cities and towns during these protests.
According to sources, said Congress MPs, its working committee members, and All India Congress Committee office-bearers will be part of the "Satyagraha" that begins at 10 AM at Jantar the Mantar on June 19.
"The decision was taken as the Agnipath scheme has enraged the youths of our country and they are protesting on streets," a party leader said. "It is our responsibility to stand by them."
