Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace plans to begin regular commercial launches after successfully placing its first privately developed orbital rocket into space, with a target of producing one rocket a month, CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana said.

Following the successful Vikram-1 launch under Mission Aagaman, Chandana said the company's immediate focus is to increase launch frequency while developing the next-generation Vikram-2 rocket.

He said Skyroot aims to become one of the world's leading satellite launch service providers, with many of its customers already coming from Europe and other international markets.

Vikram-1 lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on Saturday, placing multiple payloads into a nearly 450-km low-Earth orbit and validating key technologies for future commercial launches.
