Following the govt's confession in the parliament that it has no record of the farmers who died during the farmers' protests, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Saturday sent a list of 702 farmers, said to have 'died' during the farmers' protests against the three controversial farm laws, to the government.

"We have sent a list of 702 farmers who were martyred during the agitation," confirmed farmers' leader Kishan Paul.

When asked about providing compensation to the families of farmers who died during the protests in the Lok Sabha, the government claimed to have no record of anyone losing their lives during the protests. The question of granting compensation, therefore, does not arise, the government said.

The farmers are holding an important meeting at the Singhu border to discourse the future course of action now that the three farm laws have been repealed. They have also demanded the withdrawal of cases registered against them, law on MSP, compensation for the families of those dead, among others.

"The government says that it does not have any record. We have data of 503 farmers. If the government wants, it can take the list from us. The Punjab government has given compensation to 403 families and jobs to 152 affected families," said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday.
