Lucknow: A shop owner in Uttar Pradesh refused to eat food from his own shop during a food safety raid, even after officials repeatedly asked him to do so. A video of the incident, which took place at a sweet shop in Hamirpur, is circulating widely on social media.

The raid was conducted following a complaint alleging that adulterated sweets were being sold at the shop. A Sub-Divisional Magistrate, accompanied by food department officials and police personnel, arrived at the premises to carry out an inspection.

During the raid, one of the officials picked up a sweet from the shop and asked the owner to eat it. However, the shopkeeper refused and stood with his hands folded despite being urged to taste the food.

Officials subsequently collected samples of the sweets for testing and instructed that the remaining stock should not be sold and should be discarded.
