Prayagraj: Shocking visuals of alleged brutal ragging inside Motilal Nehru Medical College have triggered outrage across social media after a junior student released videos accusing senior students of systematic physical and mental abuse inside the women’s hostel. The disturbing footage, now widely circulated online, allegedly shows senior girl students threatening, humiliating and physically harassing junior girl students during late-night ragging sessions.

According to the allegations raised by the junior student, first-year students were subjected to relentless intimidation inside hostel rooms and corridors. Senior students allegedly snatched away mobile phones from juniors during the night, preventing them from contacting family members for hours. The victims were reportedly forced to remain awake and stand for long periods while being verbally abused and mentally tortured. The visuals also reportedly capture senior students mocking those who attempted to protest against the ragging or gather evidence of the abuse.

The controversy has intensified after reports emerged that groups of senior students deliberately isolated junior students and attempted to mentally break them through coordinated harassment. The accused students allegedly behaved with complete impunity, warning their juniors that complaints would go nowhere and that no action would be taken against them. The aggressive conduct shown in the viral clips has sparked anger among students, parents and social media users alike.

As the videos spread online, several people tagged the offices of Yogi Adityanath and the Prayagraj Police, demanding immediate intervention. Social media users have called ragging a criminal offence and demanded strict punishment, including expulsion of the accused students from the college. Many also pointed out that similar ragging incidents in the past had destroyed students’ lives, intensifying calls for urgent action against those involved.
