Senior editor Sarah Jacob quits NDTV after programme praising PM Modi gets backlash
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Prominent journalist and senior editor Sarah Jacob is the latest among a slew of journalists who stepped out of the NDTV newsroom after industrialist Gautam Adani-led Adani Group took over the NDTV group.
According to a report by NewsLaundry, Sarah has tendered her resignation after more than twenty years of her career with NDTV. It is reported that Sarah's resignation came after the telecast of a segment praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "respect for women" on her acclaimed show 'We The People.' The channel faced significant backlash on social media for its laudatory portrayal of Modi.
Sarah’s resignation note admired the organization's newsroom describing it as "an amazing newsroom filled with the most creative and driven reporters" in an internal communication to the NDTV team. She expressed her gratitude to her colleagues, stating, "I cannot thank you enough," and considered it an honour to have worked with such exceptional individuals.
