SC likely to set up a panel to enquire Pegasus scandal in next week
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Most controversial snooping into the private lives of people using Israeli made software, the Pegasus, and the scam revolved around it, will likely be probed under the Supreme Court watch as reports suggest the SC has decided to set an inquiry panel.
An official in the formation of the panel is expected in the next week. The Chief Justice NV Ramana, while hearing a case by a lawyer, who also represents one of the petitioners in the Pegasus hearing, said that the order on constituting the panel will be passed by the next week.
"We wanted to pass an order on the matter before this week... but some members we thought of considering for the (expert) committee (on Pegasus) ... for personal reasons they denied to be part of this committee. Hence the delay," the Chief Justice said.
"We will try to pass an order on Pegasus next week," he added.
