New Delhi: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, has arrived in New Delhi for a two-day official visit to strengthen bilateral ties with India. He landed on Tuesday night at the Air Force Station in Palam.

During his visit, Prince Faisal will meet with India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM), S. Jaishankar, at Hyderabad House on Wednesday. The two leaders will discuss a range of issues aimed at enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The highlight of the visit will be the second meeting of the Political, Security, Social, and Cultural Committee of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC), which the Saudi Foreign Minister will co-chair. The SPC, established in 2019 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Saudi Arabia, serves as a platform to deepen cooperation across various sectors.

In a statement on X, Randhir Jaiswal, a Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, welcomed the Saudi Foreign Minister’s visit, emphasizing that it would further boost the multifaceted India-Saudi Arabia relationship. "This visit will provide further impetus to the bilateral ties between our countries," Jaiswal said.

The visit comes on the heels of a successful trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this month by India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. Goyal participated in the Eighth Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) and underscored the importance of international partnerships and economic diplomacy for fostering global cooperation, innovation, and investment.

India and Saudi Arabia have formalized numerous agreements in recent years, spanning sectors like food exports, pharmaceuticals, energy, small and medium enterprises, digitization, and electronics manufacturing. Both countries are also exploring new avenues of collaboration in emerging fields such as fintech, clean energy, hydrogen technology, textiles, and mining.
