New Delhi: Television journalist Sanket Upadhyay bid farewell to NDTV after an impactful four-and-a-half-year stint as a consulting editor. Upadhyay, a familiar face on both NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India, took to social media on X to announce his departure.

In a post, Upadhyay expressed gratitude to his viewers for the love and criticism received during his time with NDTV. However, the reason behind his resignation is yet to be disclosed.

Having initially joined NDTV in 2005, Upadhyay rose through the ranks, serving on the city desk and later becoming the Lucknow bureau head for NDTV's English Channel at the young age of 23.

His skills in both English and Hindi journalism were evident as he anchored prime-time shows such as 'Khabaron Ki Khabar,' 'Muqabala,' and 'The Big Fight.'

Upadhyay's career path included a five-year tenure at 'Times Now,' where he covered a range of events, from natural disasters to elections. He further expanded his role at the 'India Today' group, contributing as an output in-charge while showcasing his abilities in reporting, anchoring, and managerial responsibilities.

His journey continued at 'CNN News 18,' where he held the position of Deputy Executive Editor in 2016, managing day-to-day operations and hosting the evening prime-time show.

Returning for his second stint with NDTV through 'India Ahead,' Upadhyay served as Deputy Executive Editor, making significant contributions to the channel's content and programming.

His exit follows the departure of prominent figures from the NDTV network, including founders Prannoy and Radhika Roy, President Suparna Singh, chief strategist Arijit Chatterjee, and senior journalist Ravish Kumar.
