Sanjay Raut alleges voter list fraud in Delhi, compares it to ‘Maharashtra pattern’

As the BJP heads toward a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has accused the Election Commission of India of manipulating voter lists, drawing parallels with the recent Maharashtra elections.
Still reeling from his party’s poor performance in Maharashtra, where the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) alliance secured only 20 out of 288 seats, Raut reiterated his claims that irregularities in voter registration had skewed the election results in favor of the BJP.
Speaking to the media, Raut alleged that the Election Commission had ignored repeated warnings about fraud in voter lists, claiming that a "Maharashtra pattern" had been replicated in Delhi.
"We had raised concerns about voter list fraud in Maharashtra, where 39 lakh new votes appeared in just five months. Now, these votes are shifting to other states like Delhi and Bihar. The Election Commission remains silent, pretending not to notice," he stated.
According to Raut, BJP’s dominance was not a result of genuine public support but rather "forced voting."
Raut also suggested that the Congress and AAP’s failure to contest together had contributed to BJP’s significant lead.
"The initial trends indicate a tough fight. Had AAP and Congress formed an alliance, the BJP’s defeat would have been clear within the first hour of counting," he said.
His concerns were echoed by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, who took a sarcastic jibe at the opposition parties’ disunity. Posting a GIF with the phrase "aur lado, jee bhar ke lado, samapt kar do ek dusre ko" (fight some more, fight to your heart’s content, destroy each other), Abdullah pointed out how internal rivalries within the INDIA bloc had weakened their position against the BJP.
