Salt City trailer intrigues the audience with complex family bonds
text_fieldsSalt City, a new SonyLIV original web series, scheduled to hit screens on June 16 released its trailer. Audiences are intrigued by the complex family dynamics that resonate with many Indian families.
The trailer begins by introducing the Bajpais, a middle-class family living in Mumbai. The trailer is already sparking conversations with its well-crafted dialogues and voice-over that do not hesitate to expose the less-than-pleasant realities behind closed doors.
The mother's voiceover set the tone of the show by recalling a past when everyone was happy and her three children were small, fitting well under one roof. Now she wonders whether her children outgrew the house or the house shrunk.
The short video concludes with the father saying he once had a happy family, but now his children are at each other's throats and care only about success. The trailers also give a glimpse of the strained relationships between the siblings.
One of the characters is also saying the city adds salt to everything hinting at the role of Mumbai in the story. The tagline of the trailer reads "experience the journey of a family with an unusual story".
The web series is directed by Rishabh Anupam Sahay and stars Piyush Mishra, Gauahar Khan, Divyenndu Sharma, Eisha Chopra, Jitin Gulati, Manish Anand, Pranay Pachauri, and Monica Choudhary. Sahay is known for the 2017 film Death of a Poet.
