RPF constable shoots dead colleague, 3 passengers on a train in Maharashtra
text_fieldsMumbai: A Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Monday morning shot dead four people on a moving train near the Palghar railway station in Maharashtra, officials said.
Those died in the attack include an Assistant Sub-Inspector of police and three passengers onboard the Jaipur-Mumbai Express.
According to the GRP Control here, the incident occurred between the Virar and Mira Road Road stations at around 5.30 a.m.
Two on-duty RPF constables allegedly had a major fight in which one pulled out his gun and started firing at the other.
The incident happened in coach B5.Palghar is around 100 km from Mumbai.
In the firing, the other constable and three other passengers, including a woman, were killed.
After shooting the four people, the RPF constable jumped out of the train near Dahisar Station, Western Railways said, according to ANI.
Police and RPF officials are investigating the incident and further details are awaited.
