Rijiju to present PM Modi’s chadar at Ajmer Sharif dargah on Jan 4
text_fieldsJaipur: Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, will present the chadar sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer on January 4, marking the annual tradition during the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. The Prime Minister’s chadar is offered at the Dargah Sharif every year, and the Union Minister for Minority Affairs customarily represents the Prime Minister during this significant religious occasion.
Rijiju is scheduled to arrive at Jaipur airport at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday and will proceed by road to Ajmer. The chadar offering ceremony is set to take place at 11 a.m. at the Ajmer Dargah Sharif.
In addition to the chadar offering, Rijiju will also launch the Dargah Sharif’s new web portal and the ‘Garib Nawaz’ mobile app, both aimed to enhance the devotees' convenience. The web portal will provide comprehensive information about the life and teachings of Khwaja Saheb and include details on services offered by the Dargah Committee, such as the ‘langar’ and ‘deg’ services. The portal will also allow online guesthouse bookings and feature a live darshan facility, enabling devotees around the world to experience live telecasts of events at the Dargah Sharif.
Furthermore, the Union Minister will release the ‘Urs Manual,’ a guide that includes the historical background, traditions, and logistical arrangements for the Urs. The manual is designed to streamline coordination between the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Dargah Committee, and the district administration, ensuring a smooth and organized experience for visitors.
