New Delhi: Differences have emerged within the Delhi unit of the CPI(M) over reports that some Malayali leaders of the party reached an understanding with the RSS regarding the central governing committee elections of the Kerala Education Society, which runs four Kerala schools in the capital.

The CPI(M) had initially planned to field two separate panels. However, during a discussion held with RSS leaders on Thursday night, both sides reportedly agreed to avoid a contest, sparking protests from a section of the party’s Delhi leadership.

Leaders of Janasamskrithi, a CPI(M)-affiliated body that had entered the fray for the 2025–2027 management committee elections of the Society, are said to have held talks with their RSS counterparts.

Based on the understanding, both sides had decided to withdraw nominations by Friday evening. But the plan was derailed after a Delhi court unexpectedly stayed the election process, preventing the withdrawals from being formalized.
