Ravi Shankar Prasad is set to face off against Shatrughan Sinha in Asansol
text_fieldsMr Yadav took a swipe at the film star-turned politician, saying people of Asansol should know more about Mr Sinha's record as Patna Sahib MP.
It has been claimed that his lack of diligence and performance in parliament was a major reason for his falling out with the party, which led him to leave and run for the 2019 election as a Congress candidate
At that time, Mr Sinha had been handily defeated by Mr Prasad.
"People must elect someone who will stay in their midst and be available to their needs," Mr Yadav said.
During BJP's campaign, both Mr Prasad and Mr Yadav are scheduled to speak at various events.
Despite winning the seat in 2014 and 2019, many believe that the state's ruling party is in a good place now after decisively defeating the saffron challenge in the 2021 polls.
