Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Saturday that the state would reimburse the ticket amount of Rajasthanis who left the tension marred Ukraine, PTI reported.

The CM tweeted that during the war situation between Ukraine and Russia, the ticket amount of Rajasthanis coming back to their homeland from personal expenses will be reimbursed, as per the advisory from the Ministry of External Affairs.

The state government has issued directions to facilitate the homecoming of stranded Rajasthan residents, who are arriving at Delhi, Mumbai and other airports. Rajasthan Foundation will also co-ordinate in this regard, Gehlot said in his Hindi tweet.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also announced that the state would provide flight tickets for Kerala students who land at airports of Delhi, Mumbai etc., to reach Kerala. He said that directions had been issued resident commissioner and NORKA to gather information on these students, receive them when they come to India and send them home.

Meanwhile, local media have reported about many explosions heard in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. Russian special military operation has entered the second day into Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had recognised Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk as independent entities on Monday. Later, he ordered the military operation to protect the people of the Donbas region.

Many nations, including the UK, the US, Canada, the European Union etc., condemned the Russian invasion and imposed many sanctions on the largest country in the world.

Air India, as well as many other airlines, have initiated special services to rescue those stranded in Ukraine. More air services are expected to be operated in the coming days.
