Jaipur: Ravi Prakash Meena, a resident of Rajasthan, was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies. He was honey-trapped by a Pakistani woman agent and was sharing strategic information about the Indian Army.

Umesh Mishra, DGP (Intelligence) of Rajasthan, said the 31-year-old was sharing information through social media in exchange for money deposited in his bank account. He added that he was a class-4 employee at the Sena Bhawan in Delhi. The Pakistani agent who went by the name Anjali Tiwari posed as an Indian Army officer posted in West Bengal.

Intelligence agencies found technical evidence and verified the mobile phone used in the crime. After interrogation, he was charged under sections of the Official Secrets Act.

In August, the intelligence wing of the Rajasthan Police arrested two men for allegedly spying for Pakistan. They provided SIM cards of Indian telecom companies to be used by his Pakistani handlers to run social media accounts. The duo was operating several social media accounts posing as women in the Indian Army. They were also obtaining classified information from Army jawans by befriending them on social media.
