Uttar Pradesh: Congress’ Rahul Gandhi runs in the front in Uttar Pradesh in terms of lead. Rahul, who sought the mandate from the Rae Bareli constituency, currently has the largest lead in UP. According to the Election Commission, Rahul has a lead of more than three lakh votes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is contesting from Varanasi, only has a lead of 1.4 lakh votes.

He also has a lead of 3 lakhs plus in Kerala’s Wayanad, his sitting seat.

Rae Bareli was held by Sonia Gandhi in 2004. In 2019, Sonia Gandhi won Rae Bareli by 1.67 lakh votes. In the 2014 elections, Sonia Gandhi had a lead of more than three and a half lakh votes. Sonia won the largest lead in the history of the constituency in the 2009 elections.
