Quadruplet boys in first childbirth: Kerala couple beaming with joy

A couple hailing from Kerala's Chalavara in Palakkad is in immense happiness after being blessed with quadruplet boys in their first childbirth. Mohammed Mustafa and Mubeena are the couple who gave birth to four boys in a single delivery. Dr Abdul Wahab, a gynaecologist at Maulana Hospital in Perinthalmanna delivered the babies through c-section on January 16.
The doctors had diagnosed that Mubeena was carrying quadruplets in the initial stage of the pregnancy itself. Infants weighing 1100-1600 g were admitted to the neonatal ward.
The babies are currently under the care of the Chief Consultant Neonatologist, Dr Jayachandran and his fellow doctors. The babies are named Ayan Adam, Azan Adam, Aizin Adam and Asvin Adam.
Quadruplets are a rare phenomenon that occurs once in 70 lakh births.
