Putin praises India’s global influence, vows to strengthen strategic partnership
text_fieldsRussian President Vladimir Putin lauded India’s “well-deserved authority” in global affairs and its active role in addressing key international challenges on Friday.
In his Independence Day greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to enhancing its “special privileged strategic partnership” with India.
“India enjoys well-deserved authority in the world arena and actively participates in resolving the most important issues on the international agenda,” Putin said.
He expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the two nations will “continue to comprehensively increase constructive bilateral cooperation in various areas,” adding that such collaboration “fully meets the interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with strengthening security and stability at the regional and global levels.”
The Russian leader’s remarks come as India marked its 78th Independence Day, with Prime Minister Modi announcing the Sudarshan-Chakra Mission 2035 aimed at bolstering the country’s self-defence capabilities.
