Saying that the case was taken for promoting enmity between groups, police informed that the protest rally was organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal on Wednesday.
The protest march was conducted at the Kamala Nehru Park at around 5 pm, and approximately 50 people took part in it. Footage shows people wearing saffron shawls and turbans, raising provocative slogans against Muslims and burning 'Islamic Jihad terrorism' effigy.
A man rants the slogans through the mic and the crowd, including women, repeats them.
Local media reported that protesters were stating that the killers, who boasted about their heinous act through a video, were a challenge to the country's sovereignty which cannot be tolerated. They demanded capital punishment for the killers and one crore rupees compensation for Kanhaiya Lal's family.
Kanhaiya Lal was murdered by two men, Gos Mohammad and Riyaz Akhtari, posing as customers at his shop. They filmed the murder and gloated about it in the video and said that they murdered him for insulting Islam. A local court has sent both to 14-day judicial custody for an identification parade.
