Priyank Kharge challenges BJP over allegations against Rahul Gandhi
text_fieldsBengaluru: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has challenged the BJP to produce concrete evidence to support its allegations regarding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits and meetings. Kharge challenged BJP spokespersons to present proof if there was any evidence of anti-national activities involving Gandhi.
The challenge came after BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi levelled serious allegations over Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits. “If Rahul Gandhi is involved in any anti-national activities, show the documents,” Kharge said.
Kharge also questioned whether intelligence agencies were unaware of whom Rahul Gandhi met during his visits abroad. “Don’t they have intelligence inputs about whom Rahul Gandhi meets abroad? Is our intelligence system so useless?” he asked.
Kharge sarcastically remarked that the BJP spokespersons were questioning the competence of the External Affairs Minister, the Home Minister and the Prime Minister. Asking whether the Leader of the Opposition could travel abroad and secretly meet people without the authorities knowing, he challenged the BJP to provide evidence of any alleged anti-national activities.
On Friday, Trivedi had alleged that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, met “questionable individuals” during his foreign visits and engaged in anti-India propaganda after returning to the country.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to return to Delhi today after his visit to Vietnam. He is expected to meet leaders of the INDIA bloc in connection with the mega rally scheduled for November 1 as part of the protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
