President Murmu calls on CPES, IES officers to drive inclusive growth

Droupadi Murmu on Friday urged officers of the Central Power Engineering Service and the Indian Economic Service to play a key role in advancing India’s growth and ensuring inclusive development.

Addressing the officers at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said they stand at the forefront of the country’s progress and will be instrumental in shaping policies and implementing reforms that promote sustainable and equitable development. She advised them to work with dedication and a sense of purpose.

Speaking to CPES officers, Murmu highlighted the importance of electricity in driving industrial development, innovation, and improved living standards. She noted that the service has contributed significantly to the planning and development of power generation, transmission, and distribution, while ensuring quality and reliability.

She added that their role in strengthening power infrastructure through sound engineering practices and innovation will remain critical.

Addressing IES officers, the President said that economic planning and policy implementation have become increasingly important in a rapidly changing global and domestic environment. She said their work will be vital in ensuring sustainable growth, managing inflation, boosting employment, and reducing inequalities.

President Murmu also reminded the officers that economic decisions must focus on people, stressing that the true measure of policy lies in its impact on improving lives, particularly for the most vulnerable sections of society.
