Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Mumbai today for the first time since assuming office for a third consecutive term on June 9, following the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s triumph in the Lok Sabha elections.

During his visit, he will launch, dedicate, and lay the foundation for multiple infrastructure projects valued at over ₹ 29,400 crore.

At around 5:30 p.m., Prime Minister Modi will arrive at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai. Here, he will inaugurate several projects related to roadways, railways, and ports.

Later, at approximately 7 p.m., he will visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, to inaugurate the new INS Towers. This building aims to meet the evolving needs of INS members by providing modern and efficient office space, serving as the central hub for the newspaper industry in the city.

Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) Project

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for tunnel work at the GMLR Project, which is valued at over ₹ 6,300 crore. This project aims to provide road connectivity from the Western Express Highway at Goregaon to the Eastern Express Highway at Mulund. The 6.65-kilometer GMLR will offer direct access from the Western suburbs to the new Navi Mumbai airport and the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.

Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. The Kalyan Yard project will help segregate long-distance and suburban traffic, enhancing the yard's capacity to handle more trains and reducing congestion. The Gati Shakti terminal, spanning over 32,600 square meters, will create additional employment opportunities and serve as a terminal for handling cement and other commodities.

Railway Infrastructure Enhancements

The Prime Minister will inaugurate new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and extend Platforms No. 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station. The new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus are designed to accommodate longer trains, thus increasing passenger capacity. The extended platforms at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will now support trains with up to 24 coaches, enhancing overall capacity and efficiency.

Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana

Additionally, the PM will launch the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, an internship program with an outlay of around ₹ 5,600 crore. This initiative aims to address youth unemployment by offering skill enhancement and industry exposure opportunities to individuals aged 18 to 30 years.
