PM Modi reaches Kashmir border district with blessings for soldiers on Diwali
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reached the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector in Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with soldiers there. It is PM Modi's second Diwali with the soldiers in the border district since 2019.
Addressing the soldiers, PM Modi said that he brought the blessings of crores of Indians with him for soldiers representing their families.
Calling the Army the 'suraksha kawach' of 'Maa Bharti'- the guard of the motherland- Prime Minister said that the capability and strength of the troops ensure peace and security for the country.
He further said that because of the soldier at borders the country feels safe to sleep peacefully and enjoy festivals.
"The moment I landed here, my heart was filled with thrill. This place's present is an example of your bravery. You have given a befitting reply to all the conspiracies here in Nowshera," he said.
Ahead of PM Modi's visit, Army Chief General MM Naravane arrived in Jammu yesterday and visited forward areas to assess the security situation.
