PM Modi meets Norwegian King, discusses India’s growth and business opportunities
text_fieldsPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Harald V in Oslo and spoke about India’s rapid transformation and growing opportunities for Norwegian businesses.
PM Modi, who arrived in Norway on a two-day visit from Sweden, met the Norwegian monarch at the Royal Palace in Oslo.
During the meeting, King Harald V conferred Norway’s highest civilian honour, the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit, on the Indian prime minister for his contribution to strengthening India-Norway ties and for his leadership.
According to Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi spoke about India’s economic transformation and the opportunities available for Norwegian companies and partners in technology and innovation.
The Norwegian king also hosted a luncheon in honour of PM Modi.
The visit marks PM Modi’s first trip to Norway and the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in 43 years.
