PM Modi congratulates new Israel PM Bennett, expresses gratitude to Netanyahu
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter to congratulate Naftali Bennett on being sworn in as Israel's new Prime Minister. He added that he looked forward to meeting Bennett to deepen their country's strategic partnership on the occasion of completing 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"Excellency @naftalibennett, congratulations on becoming the Prime Minister of Israel. As we celebrate 30 years of the upgradation of diplomatic relations next year, I look forward to meeting you and deepening the strategic partnership between our two countries," Modi tweeted separately in both Hebrew and English. Bennett was sworn in as Israel's new PM on Sunday after months of uncertainty following inconclusive elections in the country.
He further tweeted his gratitude to former PM Netanyahu, who held the position for 12 years, for his personal attention to India-Israel strategic partnership. "As you complete your successful tenure as the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, I convey my profound gratitude for your leadership and personal attention to India-Israel strategic partnership @netanyahu," he tweeted.
