PM Modi commemorates 50 years of India-South Korea diplomatic ties
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the half-century journey of diplomatic relations between India and South Korea, emphasising it as a voyage characterised by mutual respect, shared values, and strengthened partnerships between the nations.
In a post on X, PM Modi commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and the Republic of Korea. He underscored the growth of bilateral relations as a testament to mutual respect and the convergence of values between the two countries over the past five decades.
Extending warm wishes to Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, PM Modi expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with him, aiming to further fortify and broaden the special strategic partnership shared by India and South Korea.
The Prime Minister's remarks not only celebrated the historical milestone of diplomatic ties but also highlighted the continued commitment to strengthening and deepening the bond between the two nations in various domains.
South Korea's envoy, Chang Jae-bok, revealed earlier in September the country's commitment to extend a USD 4 billion line of credit to India over the next three years, specifically targeting "high-value" projects.
During a press conference, the envoy informed reporters about the discussion held between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The conversation took place during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit. Highlighting the details of the meeting, the envoy mentioned the leaders' mutual agreement to enhance strategic communication and cooperation between their nations.
