Kolkata: A petition has been filed before a single judge bench of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha in the Calcutta High Court, claiming that two Pakistani individuals have fraudulently secured jobs in the Indian armed forces by forging documents.

The petition identifies the two alleged Pakistani nationals as Jaikant Kumar and Pradyumna Kumar, currently stationed at the defence cantonment in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. Bishnu Chowdhury, a resident of Hooghly district, filed the petition.

Chowdhury's plea accuses the duo of having gained employment through the Staff Selection Commission examination by submitting forged documents. Furthermore, he claims that influential political figures, bureaucrats, and police officials were involved in a major racket behind such appointments facilitated by counterfeit papers.

During the hearing on Tuesday, Justice Mantha expressed the gravity of the situation, stating that if the allegations hold true, it would be a matter of utmost national security concern.

"This matter is of utmost importance for the safety and security of our nation. If the charges are proven, it raises the possibility of Pakistan's top intelligence agency, the ISI, being involved in infiltrating their spies into the Indian defense forces," Justice Mantha commented.

He directed the Union government, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army to be included as parties in the case.

Additionally, Justice Mantha instructed the criminal investigation department of the West Bengal Police to conduct the preliminary investigation based on the allegations mentioned in the petition. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for June 26.
