Bulandshahr/UP: A deadly collision between a private bus and a pickup truck here killed at least ten people on Sunday morning. The accident also injured 37 more. The death toll of the accident, which happened on the Badaun-Meerut highway in Salempur, is expected to go higher, NDTV reported, citing officials.

It is learnt that the district administration officials were also involved in the rescue operations.-

District Magistrate Chandra Prakash told reporters that ten people died in the accident, while the injured were hospitalized. Four of the injured were referred to Meerut Central Hospital, while the others are being treated at the district hospital.

Singh said that the pickup truck was travelling from Ghaziabad to Sambhal when it collided with the bus. Around 21 people were brought to the district hospital and were being treated by a team of doctors, he said.

It was in May, a speeding van crashed into a bus, which came against, killing five people, including a child. The horrible accident, which also injured eight, happened on the Lakhimpur-Bahraich highway in Uttar Pradesh. Four passengers of the van, including a child, were killed on the spot, while another passenger died on his way to the hospital, Lakhimpur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramesh Kumar Tiwari had told media persons. Among the eight injured, six persons were reported to be critical. All injured persons have been sent to the district hospital, he said.
