Pending grievances in Secretariate reaches 103k from 94k
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The public grievances pendency in the Central Secretariate hiked to 1,03,558 cases in July end from 94,810 cases in June, IANS reported.
Department of Public Grievances stated that a total of 77,414 cases were received on the CPGRAMS portal in July, and 68,567 out of them were redressed, while a pendency of 1,03,558 cases existed.
In July, the maximum number of grievances were received by The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Department of Financial Services (Banking Division), Central Board of Direct Taxes (Income Tax), and Department of Post.
Meanwhile, The Department of Land Resources, the Department of Public Enterprises and the Department of Expenditure performed well in the grievance redressal index (GRI) for the same month.
According to the Central Secretariate report, overall quality and timely disposal of grievances improved when GRIs compared for the months of June and July.
Further, it said that 22 ministries or departments have more than 1,000 pending grievances as of July 25, whereas the Ministry of Cooperation (18,203) and the Department of Health and Family Welfare (11,644) have the highest pending grievances for more than 45 days.
Department of Financial Service (Banking Division) has the highest number of public grievance cases under the corruption category, with 1,111 pending grievances.
Six ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Steel and Department of Defence Finance, have improved their July GRI rankings by ten or more places as compared to June.
Similarly, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Power and the Department of Investment & Public Asset Management witnessed a fall in July GRI rankings of more than ten places as compared to June.
