Patna judge pulls up IAS officer on "Dress code"
text_fieldsPatna: A viral video emerged on Friday from Patna High Court showing a judge asking an IAS officer if he had come to a movie theatre wearing what the judge said," inappropriate' dress.
The officer was at a loss to convey that he was unaware of any dress code required in courts, NDTV reported.
Justice PB Bajanthri was seen pulling up the officer Anand Kishor who showed up for a hearing in a white shirt with his collar buttons open and no blazer.
The Principal Secretary to Housing and Urban Development in the Bihar government is also close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The judge spent over two minutes reprimanding the officer asking him if he hadn't attended the civil service training institute in Mussoorie.
As the bewildered officer stood there struggling for words, Justice Bananthri asked him whether he thought was in a cinema hall.
As the officer looked around the lawyers surrounding him, the judge went on saying if he didn't know in what dress he had to appear in the court.
Obviously, the judge was upset with the officer's open collar and not having worn a "at least' a coat.
