Following an application filed by the Mumbai Police, a magistrate's court in Mumbai on Wednesday declared former city Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh as a 'Proclaimed Absconder' in an extortion case against him. Param Bir Singh is untraceable since the last several months now.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate SB Bhajpale allowed the plea and passed the order against Singh. Courts in Mumbai and Thane had issued non-bailable warrants against the ex-cop earlier. He is currently designated as Director-General, Maharashtra Home Guards.
