Delhi Police have uncovered a potential connection between Pakistani elements and the Ghazipur flower market bomb. Police reports have alleged that Pakistani agents have been sending IEDs and arms across the Indian border by both land and sea, a Hindustan Times report claimed.

The bomb in the market was allegedly a part of a 24-bomb cachement shipped across the border.

The new findings come after a sophisticated analysis done by the National Security Guard on the 1.5 kg bomb found at the Ghazipur flower market in Delhi was revealed to contain RDX. A timer had also been set on the bomb, to explode in little over an hour.

According to sources, the ISI used its sleeper cells to plant the IED in Ghazipur Flower Market. The special cell team raided some places in Delhi-NCR, but no specific lead has been found until now. No major clue was found even from the CCTVs installed in the area, India Today reported.

According to security agencies, the cross-border drug smugglers dealing in Afghan heroin and opium have been tasked to push IEDs into India through drones and sea-going vessels. "The IED consignments, funded by drug money, are still coming into India with the objective of fanning a communal flare-up after a major incident," said a senior official as quoted by HT.

The police suspect that the IED found in Ghazipur came from Punjab, where Pakistan has been sending explosive material through drones. The police suspect that the IEDs dropped in Punjab from across the border were not completely recovered and could have found their way to Ghazipur.

Over 20 kg worth of explosives have been recovered in Punjab last week alone, pointing to increased suspicious activity as India counts down the days to Republic Day. The Ludhiana court blast in December has also put security forces on alert.
