One survivor of Deoghar ropeway accident saved up urine in bottle to drink
text_fieldsRanchi: Survivors of the Sunday's cable car accident in Jharkhand are still reeling from shock.
Around 70 people got stuck in the cars at Trikut Pahar close to Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar.
The cars began colliding with each other pell-mell at around 5 pm after two of the cable cars hit, halting operations to the hilt.
Three people died including a man from West Bengal who fell to his death as he was being rescued by a helicopter.
Survivor Vinay Kumar Das said those stuck in the cars including him were ready for the worst.
They urinated in bottles to drink if they ran short of water as they waited for rescuing, according to India Today.
Vinay Kumar Das and six of his family were stuck in a trolley.
Another survivor hailing from Madhubani district of Bihar believed those trapped were going to die.
A girl trapped in the trolley said she was scared when the trolley was moving, according to the report.
She said everybody was starving the whole night and wouldn't eat anything until 11:30 am on Tuesday.
She felt good when she saw food being lowered on a rope to her.
It took 45 hours to complete rescue operations and hours before, a woman fell to death on Tuesday after a rope broke.
On Tuesday, 15 people were evacuated safely, the report said, adding three people died in the accident.
