Once they are out of power, the media will publish it all: Nitish Kumar hits at BJP

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday called upon the Opposition parties to form a "main front" against the BJP rather than the regular ragtag "Third front".

Kumar was speaking to his followers at a conference of his party the Janata Dal (United), when he expanded on his strategies for 2024 lok Sabha polls, NDTV reported.

While promising to work towards it again, he said it was up to these parties to make it happen.

Kumar recently set out to stitch together an alliance with "like-minded parties", meeting their leaders keeping in view the upcoming polls.

It appeared like he was one-upping other Opposition leaders to get a more decisive role for himself in national politics.

The 71-year-old Bihar, who weathered all seasons in politics, earlier accused the BJP of undermining JD (U) while still being an alliance partner.

He linked his parties "unsatisfactory' performance to the BJP's "work' against the JD(U).

Without referring to the BJP by name, Kumar shot at the saffron party, saying "In 2020, we suffered as they tried to ensure the defeat of our candidates", NDTV quoted him as saying.

Kumar targeted media, saying that not all things were reported and added that media will publish everything once "they are out of power", referring to the BJP.
