On PM's direction, Govt set to clear all pending grievances by Oct
text_fieldsNew Delhi: As directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Government is planning to bring massive changes in handling the pending public grievances and complaints with the different government offices.
The government is reported to be disposing of all pending public grievances, along with all pending assurances given to Parliament, MPs and state governments as well as concluding all inter-ministerial consultations in October.
The drive to make the government offices free of old bundles of unattended grievances in different formats included removing old and unwanted files as wells as the obsolete materials in the government offices.
The process of identifying the materials that fall in the obsolete category has begun from September 13 in all ministries, departments and subordinate offices by the instruction from Cabinet Secretariat.
All the ministries and other offices will also review the existing rules to lessen the burden of compliances and reduce the increased paper works wherever it is feasible, a report published in The Indian Express.
Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, in a letter to all ministries, also reminded the Prime Minister's Independence Day address where he call for reviewing existing rules and procedures continuingly.
This process is set to last till September 29, and the disposal exercise will start October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. The disposal exercise is part of the nationwide cleanliness campaign started by the NDA government.
The public grievances addressing different ministries are now being drawn to the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System website of the Ministry of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The nodal body assigned for receiving complaints from citizens then directs the grievances to ministries concerned and there is a protocol for redressal.
