Officer-involved in Aryan Khan's drugs case dismissed from NCB in separate case
text_fieldsMumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has terminated the employment of one of its Superintendents, Vishwa Vijay Singh, who was part of the team responsible for the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship in Mumbai last year, which led to the arrest of Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
According to an official, Singh was removed from his position following an inquiry in an unrelated case for which he had already been suspended in April 2022. The probe had uncovered certain issues with Singh's conduct, leading to his dismissal.
Singh was part of the team led by Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede, who raided the Cordelia cruise ship on October 2, 2021. During the operation, the NCB seized a variety of illegal substances, including cocaine, mephedrone, marijuana, and MDMA, as well as cash amounting to ₹1.33 lakh.
In total, the NCB arrested 17 individuals in connection with the case, including Aryan Khan. However, Khan was eventually released on bail by the Bombay High Court. The case has garnered significant media attention, with some critics questioning the motives behind the NCB's actions and the validity of the charges against the accused.
