New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said blessing of 'Nari Shakti' helps him continue working to build ‘Viksit Bharat’, news agency ANI reported.

PM Modi was responding to a tribal woman in Odisha who handed over ₹ 100 to a BJP leader to "convey thanks" to PM Modi.

The BJP vice president Baijayant Jay Panda's post on X said that a tribal woman, who he met during the party’s membership drive in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Friday, gave him the money expressing gratitude to PM Modi.

The BJP MP in his post said that the ‘Adivasi lady’ insisted on giving him Rs 100 despite he politely declined but she brushed aside his ‘demurrals & explanations’.

Jay Panda claimed that the woman’s gesture was a ‘reflection of the transformation that Odisha & Bharat is experiencing’.

Following which, PM Modi took to the platform X saying that he was touched by this affection, adding ‘I bow to our Nari Shakti for always blessing me. Their blessings inspire me to keep working to build a Viksit Bharat.’

The BJP came to power in Odisha in 2024 assembly polls ending the 24-year-old rule of Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

The saffron party won 78 seats in the polls, while the BJD managed just 51 seats with the Congress securing 14 seats.

In Lok Sabha polls the BJP won 20 out of the 21 seats with BJD drawing a blank, while the Congress secured one seat.
