Nuh: A court in Haryana's Nuh on Wednesday granted regular bail to Congress MLA Mamman Khan in two cases linked to the July 31 Nuh violence.

Khan, who was accused of provoking people and inciting violence, was arrested on September 15 in four cases.

He was earlier granted bail in two cases (FIR numbers 149 and 150), while he was on interim bail in the two other cases, and on Wednesday, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajay Sharma granted him bail in those two cases (FIR numbers 137 and 148).

His counsel Tahir Hussain Devla said, "After hearing the regular bail plea (of the legislator), the court granted regular bail to him in the two cases".

According to Devla, the Nuh police SIT failed to produce corroborative evidence to prove allegations against the Ferozepur Jhirka MLA.

They could not produce any evidence obtained from his mobile and bail was granted to him. He was framed due to political vendetta, said Devla.

Earlier, the Congress' Haryana unit had alleged that the MLA's arrest was a "political witch-hunt" and demanded a judicial probe into the Nuh violence under the supervision of a high court judge.
