New Delhi: The National Testing Agency has announced the start of the application process for the Common Undergraduate Entrance Test (CUET) 2026, with online registrations opening on January 3 and closing on January 30. The examination is scheduled to take place in May, although the precise dates are yet to be confirmed.

According to the NTA, applications will be accepted until 11.50 pm on January 30, while the deadline for payment of examination fees has been set for January 31.

The agency indicated that the test is expected to be conducted between May 11 and May 30. Candidates will also be given an opportunity to correct errors in their application forms during a window from February 2 to February 4, TNIE reported.

CUET is a key gateway for undergraduate admissions across the country, with more than 250 universities recognising its scores. This includes 49 Central Universities such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University and Aligarh Muslim University.

In addition, CUET scores are accepted by 36 state universities, 129 private universities, government institutions and several deemed-to-be universities for admission to their undergraduate programmes.
